Relaxing at home is everyone’s idea of some “me time”. Sitting down with a hot cup of coffee is something we all look forward to. But what if, before you can sit down and settle in, your elbow clumsily bumps into something. Unfortunately, now you have scalding black coffee staining your beautiful bed sheet and ruining the decor you had going on in the room.
These stains can set in deep if not cleaned and can even ruin the bedsheet.
Don’t panic. While there may not be a solution to your innate clumsiness, there are solutions to get that ugly stain off.
Here are the things you’ll need to remove coffee stains:
- Mild soap
- Lukewarm water
- WD 40
Immediately wipe up any coffee spilled. Get some mild soap and lukewarm water, mix them together. Create foam, enough to be picked up. Place this foam on the stain, and wipe clean with a dry cloth.
Solution 2 to remove coffee stains
Sprinkle something absorbent such as cornmeal on the wet coffee stain. This will soak up the liquid as well as the color of the stain. Leave it for a while, allow it to dry. Gently brush off with a cloth.
While the above solutions may not get rid of the stain completely, especially with light-colored sheets. Try this foolproof method. Spray some WD-40 on the fresh or built-up stain, and start wiping off. Clean off the stain and soak any remaining WD-40 with a sponge.
Pro Tip: Clean up any spillage as it happens, immediately. This will avoid stains and keep the fabric clean. Check out our blog on how you can remove coffee stains from the carpet easily.
