Stubborn lime stains? Here’s how to remove them.

We understand, no one likes to get their hands dirty to clean up the bathroom. But time can cause a lime build up in your toilet pot, and other areas of the bathroom (and even the kitchen!). It isn’t a pretty sight, nor is it the healthiest thing to have around.
Perhaps it’s just the hard water that’s causing it, and the problem has been overlooked for a couple of weeks/months now. Whatever the reason, it’s important to remove limescale even if you don’t live in the bathroom 24×7. Yes, we know of that excuse, too.

Here are 3 solutions that can help you get rid of the lime build up in your bathroom:

Solution 1: Using Lemon juice to remove limescale

Although this solution takes the most amount of time, these ingredients are affordable and easy to use. You may either use 1-2 cups of lemon juice for the procedure.

Step 1
Spray/pour a generous amount of lemon juice all over the limescale in your toilet pot/bathroom.

Step 2
Since this solution takes a while to work, allow it to soak for a day. Be wary of using the bathroom during the soaking period, since it won’t be effective if not soaked enough.

Step 3
Scrub the areas with steel wool/a bathroom scrubber, and flush. If you’ve given enough time for the solution to work, you should see a significant difference after.

Solution 2: Using Baking soda to remove limescale

Often associated with cleaning hacks at home, this solution would require a lot of baking soda, a few minutes of pre-prep, and more than a few hours for it to work. Here’s what you do:

Step 1
Make a thick paste of baking soda and water in a bowl.

Step 2
Carefully apply it all over the affected areas, and let it sit overnight.

Step 3
Once you give it a couple of hours/leave it overnight, it should be ready for a thorough scrubbing. You may rinse the areas with water and liquid detergent right after if you think necessary.
