The love for shoes has stayed consistent over several decades. Especially with the millennials and the Gen-Z audience going crazy after their favourite shoe brands, shoes have become some of the most prized possessions one can have. However, maintaining the quality of your shoes requires time, effort, and consistency. If you want to spare your eyes the horror of watching your shoes degrade over time, it is important to tend to them on a regular basis.
Now that the pandemic is over and people have started venturing out more often, it is inevitable for their shoes to go through a natural wear-and-tear. Especially if you are an athlete and love your sports shoes, you cannot help but get them dirty after a long game on the field. In such cases, cleaning your shoes becomes a necessity as grimy shoes are certainly not a pleasing sight!
People would hardly think of WD-40 as a product that can be used for cleaning shoes. When you think of WD-40, you think of cars, bikes, doors, and metals. However, if you are not aware of the fact that WD-40 can be used for cleaning your shoes spotless, you are definitely missing out on a lot! A few simple sprays allow you to get rid of all the dust, dirt, and stains on your beloved shoes, helping them restore their original tidy look.
It doesn’t take much to clean your shoes with the help of the WD-40 Multi Use Product. Here are all the simple steps that you need to follow:
Before showing the power of WD-40, it is important to clean your shoes off all visible dust. This reduces the effort and mess cleaning may cause at later stages. All you need to do is get an old toothbrush and remove the dust from your shoes, including the uppers, midsoles, and outsoles. This prepares your shoes for the first cleaning session.
Once you are done cleaning the visible dust off your shoes, you need to prepare a mixture of mild soap and water. This solution would help you get rid of stains that can be easily removed. After preparing the solution, get yourself a soft cloth and dip it in the mixture.
You can now start cleaning the surface of your shows using the soft cloth dipped in soapy water. This allows you to remove the debris and stains on the shoes that are not too nasty to be removed. After this, you will have a shoe that looks much better than how it was earlier. However, the cleaning process is not yet completed.
If you are not able to clean your shoelaces properly during the previous step, you can get yourself a 0-tip, dip it in the soapy water, and clean them with the same. The size of the 0-tip would help you be precise while cleaning the laces.
If your shoes have gotten really dirty, simply cleaning with soapy water will not give you the best results. It would require you to repeat the steps discussed above many times before you can clean your shoes completely. If you are willing to have shoes at your disposal that are as clean as new, you can clean them using WD-40.
All you need to do is get yourself a can of WD-40 Multi Use Product and spray it on your shoes. After spraying the liquid, let it rest for a couple of minutes until it penetrates into the surface and loosens the stains/dirt.
Once you have given enough rest to your shoes, you can wipe them off using a clean and dry piece of cloth. You will see how effortlessly the stains, dirt, and grime would come off your shoes in no time. If you are looking for a quick solution to make your shoes sparkling clean, a few sprays of WD-40 would definitely do the trick.
However, always make sure that you are not too generous with spraying the liquid on your shoes. Trust the potential of the product and do not spray it more than a couple of times. This would be enough for the liquid to work its charm and clean your shoes in the best way possible!
