How to Clean Your Foggy Car Headlights & Taillights?
Headlights are one of the most important safety features on your car. They help you see clearly at night, light up dark areas and keep other drivers from running into you. You may find that your headlights are foggy and not as bright as they should be. This is a result of dirt and grime accumulating on the around lens.
Thankfully there’s WD-40® Multi-Use Product, which can help you clean foggy headlights and get them working again. You can easily dislodge the gunk from your headlights with commonly available household items and a few common household cleaners. Certainly, there are specialist kits available over the counter that can accomplish this task, but the real key is the amount of effort you put in.
Things you will need
Cleaning cloth
Clean rag
Sponge
Warm soapy water
Towel or Microfiber cloth
Step 1
Clean Foggy Headlights
The first step is to clean the foggy headlights. Clean the area around the headlights well with a clean rag to ensure that all dirt, dust, and grime is completely removed.
Step 2
Apply WD‑40® Multi Use Product to Headlights
As soon as the headlights are free of dirt, grime, and dust, pull out your trusted blue and red can from under the sink. Take a clean cloth and liberally apply WD-40 Multi-Use Product. Once this is done, wipe over the entire headlight with the cloth, making sure that all surfaces of the headlight are covered.
Step 3
Repeat for taillights
Once you’ve completed the headlights, you need to do the same for the taillights on the other side. Make sure you wipe the entire surface of the headlight with WD-40 Multi-Use Product.
Step 4
Finally clean the residue
Use warm soapy water and a sponge to clean the headlights and taillights once they have been cleaned. In addition to removing any residue from the headlights, this will also remove any excess product left over from the cleaning process. Once the process is complete, dry with a towel or microfiber cloth.
